Here is a list of possible errors that may occur after you have imported and recreated the use case diagram in Rational Rose.
- Missing relationships
- Extra relationship labels (e.g. include, extend etc.)
- Faulty associations (between the wrong use case and actor)
- Faulty relationships (e.g. in the wrong direction, bi-directional instead of uni-directional relationships).
- Dashed lines denoting relationships appear as continuous lines. (Note: This is a rendering error which cannot be resolved at the moment).
How to resolve:
All of the above errors (with the exception of the last one) are related to proximity between objects in the Use Case Diagram
you created with JVision.
If you encounter missing or flawed relationships and/ or associations,
open the original diagram in JVision 2.1 and rearrange the objects. A rule of thumb is to have related or associated objects apart by at least 1.5 inches and unrelated objects apart by at least 0.5 inches (see Positioning Diagram Objects for details).
Once the objects have been rearranged, repeat the steps for exporting to XMI in JVision XMI Exporter (see "Export to XMI") and import the XMI file into Rational Rose (see "Import to XMI"). Then recreate the use case diagrams again on the Use Case View main template.
